Martin Twigg

Martin Twigg brings 27 years’ experience in the police force to Iprosurv, the last two of which he spent as a certified police drone pilot, one of the first police pilots to obtain the Civil Aviation Authority General Visual Line of Sight qualification.

About

Based in Sheffield, Martin can operate throughout the United Kingdom, and can, where necessary, deploy within a matter of days, for time-critical drone operations to support your business needs. Martin can also operate globally, should your business needs require.

Experience

Martin holds a Level 3 Teaching and Education qualification and is a member of the Iprosurv Training Team as a Drone Pilot Instructor and Assessor and brings a wealth of practical flight experience with him.

Operating under the police Operational Authorisation, Martin was required to fly drones in challenging and difficult scenarios such as large football matches, music festivals, public protest events and police firearms deployments as well as providing live time video into multi-agency control rooms and assisting commanders with Dynamic Risk Assessment processes.

Martin also has extensive experience in building thermal drone surveys, thermal and visual searches of rural and urban environments for vulnerable and missing persons, aerial photography and videography of crime scenes, as well as serious injury and fatal road traffic collisions.

Equipment

Martin operates the latest professional DJI flagship Matrice 30T Enterprise Drone. This portable, function-packed drone has an IP55 weather rating, allowing it to be deployed in hostile weather environments.

The M30T model comes with a 48-megapixel 1/2″ CMOS sensor zoom camera with a 5x to 16x optical and 200x digital zoom, 12-megapixel wide-angled camera, 8K photo 4K/30fps video resolution, and a laser rangefinder, providing precise coordinates of objects up to 1,200 meters away.

In addition, it also boasts an additional 640 x 512 px radiometric thermal camera. The specification of this drone means Martin can perform a vast number of drone operations to suit client needs and expectations. Martin also operates the Mavic Mini and Mavic Mini 2, for use in those tighter areas where space is an issue or where a smaller drone is required.

The Mavic Mini 2 camera is capable of recording 12 megapixels images and 4K 30fps at 100 Mbps with a zoom capability, making it very versatile for such a small drone platform.
