IPROSURV | SOUTH YORKSHIRE SKILLS BOOTCAMP
Develop an existing team member’s ability to plan drone flights, capture site information and turn aerial data into useful maps, models and measurements.
For construction, civil engineering, surveying and digital construction professionals who want to apply drone technology to the work they already do.
No previous drone experience required. Training aircraft provided.
Online study, instructor-led practical training, data processing and applied project activity.
Site records, progress monitoring, survey capture, stockpile measurement and earthworks workflows.
Programmes supporting eligible employers and learners through South Yorkshire and East Midlands funding.
Give your site engineers, surveyors and project teams another way to collect and use information. The Skills Bootcamp connects drone operation with the surveying and reporting tasks that construction professionals recognise.
Bring a real business question with you: how could we improve site records, measure material stockpiles or create clearer progress reports?
Use the programme to explore an approach suited to your organisation, before deciding what equipment to invest in.

IS THIS YOUR ROUTE?
This route is for enquiries linked to South Yorkshire: Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
Our current offer focuses on developing skills for work, including existing employees supported by their employer and self-employed professionals. Tell us where you live and work, your employment status and what you want to use the training for.
We check age, residency and right-to-work requirements, as well as course suitability and any previous Skills Bootcamp participation. An enquiry lets us establish the correct route before you enrol.

THE LEARNING JOURNEY
Learn why capture decisions matter, build practical confidence and explore how digital information could fit into your existing workflow.
Work through the site, operating environment and decisions needed before a flight.
Build aircraft handling skills through supported exercises and planned procedures.
Match the capture method to the question you need your dataset to answer.
Work through how captured information becomes something a project team can review.
Explore quantities and comparisons, including the checks needed to make an output useful.

The programme introduces mapping, photogrammetry, 3D data and measurement applications. Ask for the current syllabus to confirm the depth of LiDAR and other specialist topics for your cohort.
The advertised programme includes training towards the A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC), subject to the relevant assessments. We confirm the qualification route before enrolment.
Qualifications are part of developing your capability. Your intended operation, equipment and any separate permission requirements also need consideration before commercial deployment.
Build knowledge and prepare for the practical elements through the agreed online learning.
Apply the learning with the training team. Aircraft are supplied for practical activity.
Explore an application and identify how the skills could support your role or business.
Dates, venue and attendance: ask for the next cohort timetable. We confirm all compulsory sessions, the practical location, study commitments and assessment arrangements before you join. Funding region does not automatically determine the venue.
The aim is a useful next step at work, whether that means new responsibilities, an improved workflow or developing your business services.
No. You can join without owning an aircraft or having flown before. We check suitability and provide training aircraft for practical activity.
Not necessarily. Ask for the confirmed venue and all practical dates before enrolment, particularly if you need to plan travel or time away from work.
Tell us your circumstances. The current offer focuses on workforce and business skills; the team will check whether a suitable funded route or another training option is available.
No. We first check the route and suitability, discuss the timetable and explain the enrolment steps. Funding and a place are confirmed separately.
