Drone A2 Certicicate of Competency Training

The A2 Certificate of Competency (A2CofC) is the new drone qualification, that allows drone pilots to operate in the open category and complete a quick, cost effective course to be able to operate drones recreationally or commercially without the cost outlay of the GVC course.

The course is made up of 3 modules, with an online thoery exam consisting of 40 questions with a 75% pass mark.

There is no practical flight exam with the A2 C of C however students must sign a declaration of 2 hours practical flight self training.

Once succssesfully completed you are able to fly in the Open A2 Category.

GENERAL VLOS CERTIFICATE

General Visual Certificate Drone Training

The GVC or General Visual Line of Sight Certificate is required for any drone pilot wishing to apply for an operational authorisation from the CAA to operate within the Specific Category.

The course is made of 9 modules, with an online theory exam consisting of 60 questions with a 75% pass mark.

There is also an in person practical flight exam where you will be tested on varous flight excercises inteneded to show your confidence and safe operation of the drone.

The practical flight exam can be taken at any of our flight testing centres around the country.

Once complete you will be issued with your GVC pass certificate.

With every successful GVC course we offer a FREE A2 CofC.

A2 CofC /GVC Renewal

Iprosurv Academy Online Drone Training Pfco to GVC Conversion

It has been nearly five years since the introduction of the A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and the General Visual Certificate (GVC), marking an important phase for drone operators to consider the renewal of their certifications.

On September 30, the Civil Aviation Authority released updated guidance for Recognised Assessment Entities on the renewal procedures for these certificates. According to the new guidelines, operators are required to retake the Practical Flight Assessment for the GVC and the theory element test for the A2 CofC, although there are exemptions available if certain criteria are met.

This ensures that all drone professionals continue to meet the evolving standards of safety and proficiency in their operations.
