I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Iprosurv Limited, a leading provider of drone-related services and analytics solutions for various sectors and industries. With over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, I have a strong background in process improvement, customer relationship management, and regulatory compliance, which I leverage to create value for our clients and stakeholders.
I am also an active member of the drone community, serving on the committee of ARPAS-UK, the only industry trade association and professional body focused on the UK drone sector. I am passionate about promoting the safe and professional operation of drones, as well as supporting the development and adoption of best practices and standards. I have been recognised for my work in the drone industry with multiple awards and honors, including the Northern Enterprise Awards 2021 and 2022, and the People’s Choice Awards 2021. I am committed to advancing the drone sector and contributing to its social and economic benefits.
I’m Shane Jones, a proud veteran of the armed forces, where I dedicated 24 years of my career in service to my country serving in various operational tours. In 2008, I retired from the military, and in 2010, I was honored to receive the MBE from the former Queen Elizabeth 2nd in the new years honours awards 2010 recognition of my commitment, leadership, achievements, and contributions throughout my military career.
After transitioning from the military, I founded a business focused on energy efficiency and asbestos reports for commercial and residential properties. In 2019, I sold that business to fully commit to Iprosurv, the company I co-founded and proudly lead today.
At Iprosurv, I’ve had the privilege of building a technology-driven business from the ground up. Over the years, we’ve grown into a leading force in the drone industry, achieving three operational safety cases, enabling us to perform more complex inspections with reduced Take Off Aand Landing (TOAL), Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) capabilities and increased operating altitudes.
In 2022, driven by my passion for innovation, Iprosurv became a Recognised Assessment Entity, providing Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)-approved training to organisations and individuals seeking drone operator qualifications. It’s been a rewarding journey to not only lead, but also to help others achieve their goals in this fast-growing field.
