STEM Drones is an initiative by Iprosurv designed to introduce young minds to the exciting world of drone technology through a series of fun and engaging activities.
Alongside hands-on experiences like drone racing and drone soccer, the program includes inspirational talks that aim to spark a passion for STEM subjects.
By integrating these elements, Iprosurv seeks to make learning about drones both enjoyable and educational, opening up new opportunities for students in the classroom.
STEM Education
‘In the 21st century, scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past.
STEM education outside of the normal curriculum can be hard to achieve for key stages 1-5. However drones offer a great and interesting alternative to the normal subjects and do actually cover all of the the STEM subjects.
- Science (drone technology relies on a lot of the laws of physics to maintain flight).
- Technology (drones are at the cutting edge of technology and will continue to have a huge impact on the future).
- Engineering (drones are being used in engineering from inspections, surveys, delivery, urban mobility, all the way to applications such as vertical farming and precision agriculture).
- Mathematics (drones rely on complex algorithms to operate in a three dimensional environment especially in fully autonimouse missions)

Interactive Drone Experiances
At Iprosurv, we bring the exciting world of drones directly to your educational institution, whether it be a school, college, or community hub, with our interactive drone experience sessions.
These engaging 2-3 hour workshops are tailored to captivate both young learners and adults, making the exploration of drone technology not only educational but also extraordinarily fun.
The session starts with an enlightening presentation where attendees are introduced to various types of drones. Participants then get hands-on experience flying small, safe drones within a specially designed caged area. Depending on the age group, activities range from drone football and racing to navigating challenging obstacle courses.
For older groups, our sessions expand to include discussions on career opportunities within the drone industry. We explore the various roles from drone piloting and design to software programming. Additionally, we demonstrate how drones are being integrated across multiple sectors such as media, infrastructure, deliveries, security, sport, construction, and even e-sports.
These discussions aim to open students’ eyes to the vast potential of drones, not just as tools for today but as integral parts of future technological landscapes. Our goal is to inspire and educate, showing how drones are shaping numerous industries and creating exciting new career paths.

As part of Iprosurv’s pioneering Drones in Education program, we are now delivering Interactive Drone Experiences—exciting, hands-on sessions designed to inspire and engage students in schools and colleges. These sessions provide a fun and interactive introduction to the fast-growing drone sector, exploring not only drone piloting but also cutting-edge careers in drone design, software programming, surveying, and more.
Our 2-hour sessions, designed for up to 20 students, blend learning with action-packed activities, including a thrilling drone assault course and drone football, using safe, caged drones specifically designed for STEM education. We also showcase the high-tech commercial drones used in industry today, with the potential for live outdoor demonstrations (weather permitting). Plus, students and teachers can capture the moment with a drone class photo!

Let’s answer some of your questions
Is there a charge for the Interactive Drone Sessions?
Whilst we would love to provide the sessions free unfortunately we do have to charge for the sessions however we have kept this to minimum and believe at £300 + vat the sessiosn are very good value for money.
Are the drones safe?
Yes all of the drones we use are safe, the internal drones are caged softplay drones they are essentially toys, there is a safety brief prior but we can also send a Risk Assessment prior to attendance or booking.
Is there a space requirement?
Yes we do require some space for the drones to operate, the space should normally be a minimum of 20m x 10m a sports hall or assembly area is normally ideal, the space should not have people transiting through whilst the session is in progress. For the presentation part of the session we will need a form of presentation area or classroom with a display. We will provide everythign else.

Are you licensed to teach drones?
Iprosurv are a Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE) we have been authotised by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) who is the regulator for drones in the UK, to teach new people wishing to become drone operators, every RAE has a number which can be varified with the CAA ours is RAE 13964 this is also on ther bottom of our website.
